Well Done Sam and Taylor

A proud night for both Sam Jaques and Taylor Martin when they jointly received Student of the Month for April 2007. Enjoy the free training guys, you've earned it.

WYSOK Tournament Info

The tournament is at the Alice Bacon Centre at Normanton this Sunday 29th April.
The centre is located opposite the swimming baths.

Tournament starts at 09:30am so be on time.

If you are doing kata or ground fighting make sure you have a traditional gi.

Make sure your gi is clean and ironed and remember your belt, and most importantly, DONT FORGET to say "sensei" to all the adult and junior senseis (even if they just ask the time).

Food will be on sale so you do not need to bring your own, although you can if you wish.

Good luck, enjoy the event and be good.

***** Congratulations Jo, Student of the Month 2007 *****

Last years student of the Year, Jo Moorby, continues to impress the Senseis and has yet again earned recognition for the time and effort she spends at the Club.

WYSOK Tournament

A WYSOK Tournment is planned for 29th April. More details to follow soon.

Newmillerdam Interclub

The Interclub competition at Newmillerdam on Sunday 25th March has been postponed and therefore will not be going ahead on that date. Apologies to those that were looking forward to this.

March Kyu Gradings

A big well done to all Kyu Students who passed their March Gradings especially Joseph W. on his 1st class purple (see what you can do when you try, young fella). First class honours also go to Sam and to Martin (who apparantly did not actually fail at all, good one sensei).

The grading panel voiced great praise to the white belts and all junior students for their excellent displays and conduct throughout. You were a real credit to the Club guys, well done indeed.

I think the Senseis who contributed on the night also deserve our thanks for a well run and fair grading. Thanks too, to parents who were very patient when we over-ran he usual lesson times. I'm sure you'll agree it was worth it though.

Well Done Richard

Well done to Richard Pedley our latest Sensei. Sensei Richard passed his Dan Grading on 3rd March 2007. Brilliant job.

Please join us in congratulating him on his "Rich"-ly deserved Black Belt.

Google Group

Remember to sign up to the Google Group. This is your chat portal and direct feed to Dai Sensei David. Whether you want to ask a Karate question, say hi, or post a "Clean" joke, it's a great way to interact "out-of-hours". It's totally free and completely private to the club.

Team WYSOK (Squad Tryout this Sunday)

The WYSOK senseis are putting a tournament team together. There is a tryout on Sunday 25th Feb at Hanshin (price £2). If selected you could find yourself representing WYSOK at a national level. Times are 10:30 for Kata and 1:00 for Sparring.

Password Change

The strength of the existing password has been voted "too strong", therefore, it has been made more user friendly. It is now just the first five characters of the old password. The old password still works. If you need to know it just ask Sensei Mel or Alexe's Dad (Martin).

Good luck everyone.
